This Next Generation Nanoprobe Technology Committee was established within the Aoba Engineering Foundation in April 2023 with the support of many industrial and academic members. This committee is centered on members of the 167th Nanoprobe Technology Committee (1997.12-2023.3) of the (former) Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Industry-Academia Collaborative Research Committee, and is involved in next-generation probe technology (probe microscopy (SPM) related technology). We aim to comprehensively carry out projects related to surveys, research, and development. Unlike existing academic societies, this society aims to contribute to resolving issues faced by industries related to next-generation nanoprobe technology and creating new markets by closely exchanging information and technology among its members. The purpose is Specifically, we will solve problems (patents, papers, commercialization) through industry-academia collaborative activities toward next-generation SPM technology (e.g., SPM informatics, operando measurement, high-speed observation technology, fusion of light and SPM) and next-generation SPM technology. Our goal is to disseminate the roadmap to the world and strengthen Japan's research capabilities by contributing to SPM standardization (TC201 SC9). By focusing on projects that support the training of researchers and engineers interested in next-generation nanoprobe technology, we hope to cultivate new researchers and engineers interested in SPM technology. I have been interested in SPM since my school days, and I still get excited when observing new samples. There are still some aspects of SPM technology that are still immature, and to put it another way, there may be big monsters waiting in the future. I would like to pursue these through the committee.
